In December I was lucky to receive a fancy Keurig 2.0 to test drive – so let me tell you about it!

Keurig 2.0

What separates the Keurig 2.0 from it’s predecessors is it’s ability to make a carafe of coffee – not just single serving coffee, tea or fancy drinks. This was particularly intriguing to my husband and I since during the week he’ll make coffee just for himself but on weekends we require MORE caffine – very cool that we can make a mini pot with the Keurig 2.0.

The unit took no more thank 10 minutes to set up and looks great in our modern kitchen. The display is clear and easy to follow instructions.

And shocker – it makes coffee!

Disclosure: Our coffee makers of choice have been a 1960’s (no joke, it’s legit vintage) peculator and Kitchen Aid┬áPersonal Coffee Maker. Both are compact, and require ground coffee which we don’t mind too much since we LOVE coffee… good coffee. We’re pretty picky.

We’ve had limited exposure to the K-Cup phenomenon, so it was cool to try out the Keurig 2.0! Let’s cut to the chase – what did we think?

Pros:

-Nice looking unit

-Makes carafe and single cups

-Makes coffee, tea or fancier beverages (depending on what K-Cups you choose to buy)

-No mess, easy to use

Cons:

-Coffee quality not as good as our peculator or drip

-Locked into buying new K-Cups (more expensive than grinding beans)

-I expected a carafe K-Cup to make 4 cups or so of coffee… in reality it makes 2. When we have guests over it would be more efficient to make a traditional pot of coffee than burn through a bunch of K-cups

Overall, this is a great machine and works extremely well, it just doesn’t surpass our previous coffee ‘situation’ as far as beverage quality is concerned, in our opinion.

I have passed on this Keurig 2.0 to my Mom and Dad who are enjoying it immensely, it’s a perfect fit in my Mom’s office for when she wants a quick cup of coffee or tea. I would recommend this to someone who hates the mess and fuss of dealing with ground coffee – you can literally press a button and have your morning coffee. Pretty amazing!

I hope you found this review helpful, again thank-you to Influenster for giving me the opportunity to review the Keurig 2.0 K400!

Do you own a Keurig or similar system?
